A Well spent Day with Great Company

Today was a very productive day i must say. I spent the night at Erica's house last night. We watched Tv, talked and drank wine. And today, I feel like i made a differece. -=)
We started the day off by going to The breast cancer walk at Jones Beach. We walked about 5-6 miles! WOW! -=) Amazing! I went with Erica, Art, Aizza, Alaina, Jay, Mike, and Ben. It was definitely a first for all of us. Great experience! There were moments where we just wanted to give up, turn around and just end the walk, but whenever someone gave up, there was always someone there to motivate. The gusty wind couldn't stop us!
Afterwards, we headed straight to Oyster Bay to join an OYSTER FESTIVAL. YUMMY! Everyone was so hungry after that long walk, we devoured everything in site. Great Experience for me! We had some Oyster chowder, fried oysters, some fresh guacamolie with tostada, empanadas, some crab bunns, southern gumbo, turkey, funnel cake, Belgian waffles with ice cream (yum!) some fried chicken, and ofcourse, FRESH OYSTERS! Delish!
After exhausting our mouths chewing on wonderful food, we left Oyster Bay and headed towards home and ended our day with some Nachos and Salsa, and some frozen Margaritas and pinacoladas! Amazing! -=)

(*will try to post pictures once I get my laptop back.... its getting fixed right now)

What an eventful day. *phew*

| My daughter and I had finished a salad at the Neiman-Marcus Cafe in Dallas
| and decided to have a small desert. Because our family members are such
| "Cookie Monsters", we decided to try the Neiman-Marcus Cookie. It was so
| good that I asked if they would give me the recipe. She said with a frown,
| "I'm afraid not", "Well", I said, "Would you let me buy the recipe?" With a
| cute smile, she agreed. I asked how much, and she responded "Two Fifty".
| I said with approval, "Just add it to my tab".

| Thirty days later I received my statement from Neiman-Marcus and it was
| $285.00. I looked again and remembered I had only spent $9.95 for two salads
| and about $20 for a scarf. As I glanced at the bottom of the statement said
| "Cookie Recipe-$250". Boy was I upset! I called Neiman's accounting office
| and told them the waitress said it was "two fifty" and did not realize she
| meant $250 for a cookie recipe. I asked them to take back the recipe and
| reduce my bill, but they said they were sorry, but all recipes were this
| expensive so not just anyone could duplicate the bakery recipes...the bill
| would stand.

| I thought of how I could try to get even or try to get my money back.
| I just said okay, you folks got my $250 and now I'm going to have $250 worth
| of fun. I told her that I was going to see to it that every cookie lover
| will have the $250 recipe from Neiman-Marcus for nothing. She replied "I
| wish you wouldn't do this." I said, "I'm sorry, but this is the only way I
| feel I can get even and I will." So here it is, please pass it on to someone
| else or run a few copies...I paid for it, so now you can have it for free!!!

| 2 cups butter 1 tsp. salt
| 2 cups sugar 2 tsp. baking powder
| 2 cups brown sugar 2 tsp. soda
| 4 eggs 24 oz. chocolate chips
| 2 tsp. vanilla 1-8 oz. Hershey bar, grated
| 4 cups flour 3 cups chopped nuts
| 5 cups blended oatmeal*
|
| Cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together with
| flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey
| bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
| Bake for 10 minutes at 375. Makes 112 cookies (recipe may be halved).

| * Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.

HAPPY BDAY PAUL ORTIZ!!! AND A BELATED BDAY TO ME!
I went to Atlantic city this past weekend to start the celebration of me and my sisters bday. I wanted to take pictures but I left the camera in my friend Raquel's bag when we dropped her off at Borgata by herself so she can play poker all night... that addict. But none the less I had a great time with my friends.(even though we went to a really crappy party, and all 9 of us crashed in one room while Genney used me as a body pillow and i had to lay there and listen to the synchronized snoring that the guys, and Genney were making.)
After AC however, I got so sick, it was disgusting. I had a headache, soar throat, stuffy nose, sneezes that wouldnt come out. Oh, it was just terrible. But im getting better. I hope i feel better once friday comes along.
This comming Friday, Im gonna go to TAO RESTAURANT to have dinner with my 13 good friends. I wanted to go have dinner at NOBU but it was difficult to get reservation. So Tao it is. -=)
And as a Bday present, My bf got me a FENDER guitar cuz he knew I wanted to learn how to play it. He's so amazing! Thanks baby!
Well off to bed. I gotta sleep off the hives that i got from eating the food that my mom made that had SHRIMPS in it....... damn it...Thanks Mother

I hope everyone had a wonderful time during this holiday season... As for me, i was computer-less and busy for the month of December trying finish up the sem. and My laptop had tons of viruses in it... i dont know how i got it because i hardly use it, and ive only had it for 4 months. But everything is ok now because my baby fixed it! YAY!
Anyways, for christmas, i got me another puppy! I couldnt help it. What a great present for myself!
His name is Toby! He's now 10 weeks old.... here he is!

He's so cute.... I am so happy that i have another puppy! My other dog on the other hand wasnt so happy! Prior to me bringing home the Toby, she thought of herself as the only existing dog in the universe who got all the attention, and everything changed.... She was oh so mad at me for about 3 days. She wouldnt stay with me,and she always left my side... i was beginning to regret getting another dog because I knew how Candi felt, but things got better as the days went on... and NOW they're BUDDIES! YAY!

As you know already, I have a 1 year old Yorkie named candi given to me by my Bf Jeff last year as an anniversary present. This year, since he recently moved out, having lived with 2 dogs, he missed having one to come home to so he decided to get one and he got it today!

Now he owns a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel& a Beagle mix and Jeff named him "BAILEY" here are some pictures:

My friend Aizza has been dying to take me to this Thai restaurant for some time now, and at first I didnt want to go to the restaurant because of the fact that it was in Brookly. But she persuaded me until i said i'll try it. So I picked her up after i came home from school in the city, and off we went to Brooklyn.
And like she said the place was nice. The whole ambiance, the food, the drinks... WOW!
I recommend it! The place is great.

I just got back from my Chicago for my cousin's wedding, and on my way home i took the ghetto ass American Airlines (where my chair was constantly going to its original position every time i reclined.) and on my way out of the plane, I see a black male facing the walkway at first row, first class, and he was i guess waiting for someone so he was just watching the passengers pass. I felt eyes on me and I looked at the guy. He looked so familiar... and i just looked at him for a few seconds when i realized who it was..... it was Avant.
I said "Avant?" he seemed very shy and he said "how you doing?"... I responded and I shook his hands and just said that it was a pleasure to meet him. He smiled and i said bye. My sister was ahead of me and he didnt even know what happened cuz she was on the phone with someone. When i told her about "Avant" she was like who? So i go.... You know the guy that sings " In my B....E...D... grindin slowly"... lol

Anywas,
The guy in a business suit behind me that sat on the same row as my sister and I was curious to know who he was and I explained to him that he was a singer.
